Noteshelf Version 8.0 has finally introduced vertical scrolling, a feature we’ve eagerly awaited! You can switch the scrolling direction in your workspace by going to Settings > Scrolling.
In vertical scrolling mode, the pages shift horizontally, creating the impression that the pages are layered over the workspace. We hope this won’t cause any issues while writing in the app.
A small scrolling bar appears on the right side of the screen, allowing you to navigate through your documents more quickly. This bar moves between pages rather than sections, similar to vertical scrolling in other apps.
The vertical scrolling in Noteshelf is comparable to GoodNotes, with a gap between pages, making it less seamless than Notability. Your handwriting cannot overlap between pages, and you can’t move items across pages with the lasso tool; instead, you’ll need to cut and paste your selections.
Noteshelf has historically struggled with handwriting lag since its early versions, and the developers continue to work on improvements with this update being no exception.
