Noteshelf is a great choice if you prefer not to buy new planners every year and want all your plans in one place. This app offers the most extensive collection of page templates available in any note-taking app, including a variety of templates for note-taking, finance, health & fitness, household tasks, travel, and holidays. To get started with your journal or planner, you’ll need the Noteshelf app, an iPad, and an active stylus like the Apple Pencil. After years of trying different planners, we’ve finally designed our own minimalist planner.
To create a new planner in the app, tap the plus icon and select “New Notebook.” Choose your desired paper template, then go to “Digital Diaries” and pick the type of diary or journal you want. Set a Start and End Date for your planner, keeping in mind that each planner can’t exceed 12 months. At the top of the screen, you can choose the orientation (portrait or landscape), and on the left corner, you can select a paper size based on your iPad or iPhone, or pick a standard size. After that, select a cover for your planner, and under “Options,” you can enable Auto-backup, publish to Evernote, or set a password. Name your planner and tap “Create Notebook.”
Noteshelf offers two types of planners: Modern and Classic. Both feature intuitive hyperlinks that make navigation easy. On the first page of the planner, you’ll find links to all the months, which take you directly to their respective monthly spreads. From the monthly spread, you can link to daily spreads, and the year link will bring you back to the yearly overview. Similarly, on the daily spread, the month link takes you back to the monthly overview, while the day of the week link takes you to the weekly spread. The classic planner also includes sections for taking notes on the monthly and weekly spreads, whereas the modern planner offers more space for decoration and sticker use.
This year’s modern planner is minimalist, with inspirational quotes linked to each date, making it both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The classic planner, on the other hand, has a more traditional layout with familiar features. While the modern planner offers ample space for customization, the classic version is better suited for those who prefer taking notes.
Noteshelf’s planners are excellent this year. If you already own Noteshelf, these planners are available for free. If not, the app costs $9.99, but it’s a one-time purchase, so you won’t need to upgrade your planner every year.
