*Avowed*, the upcoming action-RPG from Obsidian, has been delayed. Originally planned for a late 2024 release, the game will now launch on February 18, 2025, as confirmed by Microsoft. The decision to push the release was likely made to give the game more space in an already crowded late 2024 release schedule.

On Saturday, the official Xbox account posted an update confirming the new release date for *Avowed*. The post explained that with so many games coming out, the delay would give players more time to work through their backlogs.

*Avowed* was initially slated for a Fall 2024 release but did not have a specific launch date until now. Along with the announcement, Microsoft reconfirmed the release dates and windows for its upcoming first-party titles. Bethesda’s *Indiana Jones and the Great Circle* is still on track for a 2024 release, and *Starfield’s* *Shattered Space* expansion will arrive later this year.

With the new date, *Avowed* joins other major Xbox titles like *South of Midnight*, *Doom: The Dark Ages*, and *Fable* on the 2025 release calendar.

Microsoft has also confirmed its presence at Gamescom, which runs from August 21 to August 25. The company will showcase over 50 titles from Xbox Game Studios, Blizzard, Bethesda, and third-party partners. There will be theater presentations for *Avowed*, *Indiana Jones and the Great Circle*, and *Starfield: Shattered Space* during the event.

*Avowed* was first revealed at the Xbox Games Showcase in 2020 and was further detailed in a trailer at the Developer Direct event earlier this year. The first-person action-RPG will be available on PC, Xbox Series S/X, and Game Pass on February 18, 2025.
