Sony has shared details about the post-launch plans for *Concord*, a multiplayer-only, hero-based first-person shooter. The game, developed by Firewalk Studios, recently entered open beta and will officially launch on PS5 and PC later this month. Priced at $40 (Rs. 2,499 in India), *Concord* will not feature a Battlepass system. Firewalk Studios has also announced the first major post-launch content update, set to arrive in October, which will introduce a new Freegunner, a new map, cosmetics, and more.
In a PlayStation Blog post, Ryan Ellis, the game director at Firewalk Studios, outlined their commitment to supporting the game with regular seasonal updates. These updates will bring new ways to play, rewards, characters, maps, modes, stories, and more.
Season 1, titled “The Tempest,” will kick off in October. It will introduce a new playable Freegunner, additional Freegunner variants, cosmetics, rewards, and a new map. Season 1 will also bring an in-game store where players can purchase customization items for their Freegunners. These items will be cosmetic-only and will not affect gameplay.
Firewalk Studios also confirmed that Season 2 will launch in January 2025, with continued seasonal updates planned throughout the first year. According to the roadmap, Season 3 is expected to arrive in April 2025.
The developers also explained *Concord’s* Crew Builder system, which allows players to create custom crews of Freegunners for online matches. Each custom crew has 12 configurable slots and a growing roster of Freegunners and their variants to choose from. Each variant comes with unique modifiers to the base abilities, and more variants can be unlocked by completing in-game challenges.
The Crew Builder system functions like deck-building, where players can choose specific characters and even double or triple up on certain abilities. Additionally, each custom crew comes with four backup slots, randomly filled with Freegunners not in the player’s primary lineup.
*Concord* will have a staggered release. Early access will begin on August 20 for players who pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe Edition. The game will be fully released to all players on PC and PS5 on August 23. PS5 players who have pre-purchased any edition can now pre-load the game onto their consoles.
