Microsoft has announced the release date for its three new Xbox Series S/X console options, which were first unveiled at the Xbox Games Showcase earlier this year. These new models include a 1TB Xbox Series S, an all-digital 1TB Xbox Series X, and a special edition 2TB Xbox Series X. They will be available starting October 15, with some regions following on October 29. However, these new consoles won’t be launching in India at this time. Pre-orders are now open on the Xbox website.
The new consoles will be available in all current Xbox-supported regions, but markets like India, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Israel, Korea, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Turkey, and the UAE are not included yet. The Xbox store in India does not list the new consoles, and Microsoft has not shared any plans to bring them to those markets.
The three models include a 1TB Xbox Series S in Robot White, an all-digital 1TB Xbox Series X, and a 2TB Xbox Series X Special Edition in Galaxy Black. These options were first revealed in June. The 1TB Xbox Series S, which lacks a disc drive, originally launched with 512GB of storage in the same Robot White colorway. Last year, Microsoft released a 1TB version in Carbon Black. The new 1TB Robot White version is priced at $349.99 or EUR 349.99.
The all-digital 1TB Xbox Series X, designed for users who prefer to buy digital games, comes without a disc drive and offers the same power as the standard Series X. Priced at $449.99 or EUR 499.99, it’s a more affordable option compared to the standard $499.99 Series X.
Finally, the 2TB Xbox Series X Galaxy Black Special Edition offers extra storage and comes with a matching wireless controller. It’s priced at $599.99 or EUR 649.99.
These release dates were announced at Gamescom, a major video game event, where Microsoft also introduced new accessibility devices. These include the Xbox Adaptive Joystick, ByoWave’s Proteus controller, and 8BitDo’s Lite SE 2.4G wireless controller, all designed to make gaming more accessible for players with disabilities.
The Xbox Adaptive Joystick connects via wire to standard Xbox controllers and features four face button inputs, a thumbstick, and shoulder buttons. The 8BitDo controller includes low-resistance buttons and highly sensitive joysticks for easier control, and it has two programmable Super Buttons that can be mapped without extra software. The Proteus controller is fully customizable with modular parts, allowing for over 100 million different combinations to fit individual needs.
