*Mafia: Definitive Edition* is set to join Xbox Game Pass on August 13, as announced by Microsoft. This remake of the 2002 classic from Hangar 13 will be available to subscribers on Game Pass for Console, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Ultimate. The news follows the addition of *Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3* to the service on July 24, marking the first *Call of Duty* title on Game Pass.

The Xbox Game Pass account confirmed the addition of *Mafia: Definitive Edition* on social media. This remake has been completely rebuilt with new assets, an expanded storyline, new vehicles, and a fresh score. Originally published by 2K, the game was released in 2020 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and was also available as part of a *Mafia* trilogy collection. Set in the fictional city of Lost Heaven, the game follows the journey of Tommy Angelo, a mobster who starts out as a taxi driver.

Developer Hangar 13 is also working on the next installment of the *Mafia* series. In 2022, Hangar 13’s general manager, Roman Hladík, confirmed that the studio had begun development on a new *Mafia* project. Though details remain sparse, Hladík expressed excitement about continuing the franchise with fresh stories. Since then, there have been rumors of an upcoming announcement from 2K regarding the series, but no official updates have been released. The last main entry in the series was 2016’s *Mafia 3*.

In addition to *Mafia: Definitive Edition*, Xbox Game Pass is expected to add *Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy* on August 8, though this title has not yet been confirmed by Microsoft. Meanwhile, *Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3* became the first *COD* game on Game Pass in July, and *Call of Duty: Black Ops 6* is set to join the service on its release day, October 25.
