They’ve added more paper templates to the app’s library, including Business Planner and Sales templates. However, these are just paper templates, not fully functional planners. It would be great if they were, right?
The option to minimize the favorites toolbar is finally here! When this feature was first introduced, the shortcut to minimize the toolbar didn’t work, but now it’s fixed. You can choose to turn on Auto-minimize, so the toolbar automatically hides when you start writing. If you turn it off, you’ll need to minimize the toolbar manually each time. You can even hide it without having to tap the pen tool, which wasn’t a big hassle before, but this makes it even easier.
We can now view our documents as thumbnails on the homepage, giving you a preview of the first page of your notes. Personally, I’m not a fan of thumbnails because they often mean fewer documents fit on the screen, leading to more scrolling.
There’s a new feature that allows us to group our ink. According to the developers, this lets you style, transform, erase, and move the entire group. However, we could already do most of these things without grouping. It’s unclear what added value this feature brings. Maybe it’s setting the stage for something bigger down the line?
Unfortunately, we can’t group ink and images together, which would have been a helpful addition, allowing us to move all items on the page at once. If anyone has discovered a practical use for this feature, we’d love to hear about it.
Now, you can save your ink as stickers! Since many of us aren’t keen on purchasing stickers from the Notability Shop, this new feature lets you create and save your own. It’s a fantastic way to get creative and fill the app with diagrams you frequently use. This feature is particularly useful and would be even better if we could organize our stickers. Your saved stickers can include anything—graphs, diagrams, or tables—anything you’ve had to draw or copy and paste repeatedly. Plus, the sticker you save still behaves like ink, allowing you to ungroup it for editing individual strokes if needed.
