Titan is a powerful business email app that lets you use your own domain name, making your communications look more professional than using Gmail or Outlook. For example, instead of [email protected], you can have [email protected]. This is especially important for freelancers and businesses that need custom email addresses.
Titan also includes a calendar and contacts app. It’s available on iOS/iPadOS, Android, and web browsers, so no matter which device you use, the app will look and feel familiar, which is great. The mobile versions have a bottom toolbar for switching between emails and your calendar, while on iPadOS, there’s also a tab for searching your emails, which isn’t available on Android. You can access the navigation panel with a sidebar toggle, but it would be better if it were accessible while working on emails, similar to Apple Mail.
On the web app, the sidebar is always visible on the left. For business use, desktops are often the preferred choice. Our team uses MacBooks for 90% of our professional work, which is why this review focuses mainly on the desktop version of Titan. It’s the most robust and fully-featured version, followed by the iPad version. The Android app is the least developed, missing a few features available on the iPad.
We prefer the three-column layout in Titan, which displays the sidebar, open folder, and open email. For a more minimalist look, you can remove the middle column, leaving just two. Titan also supports dark mode, even on mobile.
Titan has a modern design that’s appealing even when creating emails. Both the mobile and desktop versions give you easy access to email templates, which is helpful if you work with multiple clients or need to send similar emails often. The template library includes emails for various occasions, such as introducing yourself or pitching to potential investors. It’s a quick way to get started, especially if you struggle with wording.
On the iPad, formatting options are limited, but the web app offers much more:
– You can send emails instantly or schedule them to send later, which is useful if you like to batch-process your work.
– After adding recipients and a subject, you can track your email to receive an alert when it’s read. This feature is particularly useful for knowing when someone has seen your email.
– You can set reminders to follow up on emails. If you don’t get a reply, Titan will remind you to follow up, which saves you from adding a reminder to a separate task management app.
The mobile versions of Titan are designed for simple email creation and reading on the go. For more advanced features, like setting preferences and creating custom templates, you’ll need to use the web app.
Titan makes creating email templates easy. You can create one from an email you’ve sent or received, or save a draft as a template. Templates are created from text only, but you can edit them before saving. The editing options for templates are similar to those for new emails. You can also create signatures to add a professional touch to the end of your emails, with consistent formatting across emails, templates, and signatures.
If you’re switching from Gmail, Titan can import all your emails so you only need to log into your Titan account to access everything. You can also send emails out and choose whether to keep a copy in Titan when forwarding. The app allows you to set up a vacation responder to let people know you’ll reply once you’re back. You can customize the responder, choosing who receives it and how often they’re notified.
Importing contacts from Gmail or a CSV file is easy, but exporting them isn’t possible, which could be a drawback if you ever want to move your contacts out of Titan.
Titan’s sidebar lets you navigate through standard email folders like Inbox, Sent, Spam, and Drafts, and you can also create and nest your own folders. The app allows you to organize your inbox so that read emails are moved to different folders based on your preferences.
In the settings, you can enable a Priority Inbox if you receive a lot of emails. This feature recognizes emails and domains you prioritize, creating a dedicated tab for them. You can also set up rules for incoming emails, such as sending CCed emails to a specific folder, which helps keep your inbox organized automatically.
Titan also includes Calendar and Contacts apps, which are full-featured in their own right, making it a comprehensive solution for business communications.
