*Black Myth: Wukong* launched on Tuesday and has quickly become one of the most popular games on Steam, breaking concurrent player records within hours of its release. Developed by Chinese studio Game Science, the action-RPG has already topped Steam’s list of most-played games, with over 1.8 million concurrent players. The game is currently available on PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as on PS5, with an Xbox Series S/X release planned for a later date.

According to SteamDB charts, *Black Myth: Wukong* is now the third most-played game of all time on Steam, with an all-time peak of 1,833,908 concurrent players. It trails only *PUBG: Battlegrounds* and *Palworld*, making it the most-played single-player game on the platform.

The game has surpassed popular titles like *Counter-Strike 2*, *Elden Ring*, *Dota 2*, *Cyberpunk 2077*, *Hogwarts Legacy*, *Baldur’s Gate 3*, and *Grand Theft Auto 5* in terms of peak concurrent users. It is also rapidly approaching *Palworld*’s all-time peak player count of 2,101,867.

As of now, *Black Myth: Wukong* holds the top spot on Steam in terms of current player count, followed by *Counter-Strike 2*, *Dota 2*, and *PUBG: Battlegrounds*. It also ranks first in 24-hour peak concurrent player counts.

These numbers only account for Steam users, meaning the total player base could be even larger when factoring in those playing on the Epic Games Store, PlayStation Store, and the WeGame store in China. Reviews on Steam have been overwhelmingly positive, with over 70,000 user reviews.

Inspired by the classic Chinese novel *Journey to the West*, *Black Myth: Wukong* follows the journey of Sun Wukong, the monkey king. The game is now available for purchase on PC and PS5.
