Bethesda has re-released *Doom* and *Doom II* in a single enhanced package for modern platforms. The bundle, titled *Doom + Doom II*, is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and Nintendo Switch. It’s also accessible through Game Pass with an active subscription. This definitive version includes several new features and improvements, such as online cross-platform support, co-op play, mod support, 4K resolution, and more.

The re-release was announced by Bethesda on Friday, following the discovery of its Steam listing by tipster Wario64. Bethesda also confirmed that anyone who already owns the original *Doom* (1993) or *Doom II* (1994) on a supported platform will receive a free upgrade to this new version.

The *Doom + Doom II* package includes enhanced versions of both classic first-person shooters, along with additional content like the *Master Levels for DOOM II*, *TNT: Evilution*, *The Plutonia Experiment*, *No Rest for the Living*, *Sigil*, and a brand-new episode called *Legacy of Rust*. This new episode was developed in collaboration with id Software, Nightdive Studios, and MachineGames.

The package also introduces a new Deathmatch map pack with 25 maps, adding to the original 18 levels. It supports online features, including cross-platform deathmatch and co-op for up to 16 players, and features single-player mod support with an in-game mod browser.

Players can choose to experience the original MIDI soundtracks of *Doom* and *Doom II* or the modern IDKFA versions by Andrew Hulshult, which include new recordings for *Doom II*. The release also adds various accessibility options and support for eight additional languages.

In terms of performance, the enhanced package offers multithreaded rendering, supporting up to 4K resolution and 120 FPS on Xbox Series S/X, PC, and PS5. It also includes crossplay functionality and four-player split-screen multiplayer on all platforms, with eight-player split-screen available on Xbox Series S/X and PC.

Originally developed by id Software, *Doom* and *Doom II* were released in 1993 and 1994, respectively, and are considered foundational titles in the FPS genre.

*Doom + Doom II* is now available on Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch consoles, and on PC via Steam, Microsoft Windows Store, Epic Games Store, and GOG.
